The name Li̽d Zdrik Ner is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Li̽d Zdrik Ner was founded by Tseibnaer Bhineiris, who was culturaly Wood Elven.
Climate
Li̽d Zdrik Ner has a yearly average temperature of 14°C (57°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 27°C (80°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold 1°C (33°F). Li̽d Zdrik Ner receives an average of 149 cm/y (58 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Li̽d Zdrik Ner covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 4010 m (13156 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Li̽d Zdrik Ner was founded durring the early 10th century, by Tseibnaer Bhineiris. The establishment of Li̽d Zdrik Ner was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Li̽d Zdrik Ner's construction back out of the project. Tseibnaer Bhineiris pushed on reguardles, and Li̽d Zdrik Ner was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.
Li̽d Zdrik Ner was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the early 10th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Li̽d Zdrik Ner is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.
Li̽d Zdrik Ner is buildings are arranged arround a network of narrow baked earthen streets which form a diagonal shaped grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town rests behind the absurdity that is a thick, timber braced, wall made of clay bricks. While visualy impressive and certainly an astetic, Li̽d Zdrik Ner's wall provides no actual defence against siege equipment due to the choice of its cosntruction materials. Even nonexperts can tell the town is trying to impress rather than defend with its walls, towers, and gatehouses. Though admittedly, they do look nice... To primitive tribals who have never seen fortifications before. The town's political statment focused walls are visibly old, but also obviously well maintained. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with routine mantance of the town's defences.
A look around Li̽d Zdrik Ner gives you a feeling of distrust and paranoia. Also greed. The locals seem to be very much into scholastic pursuits, based on the hushed, murmured conversations you hear at least. Everyone in Li̽d Zdrik Ner acts like they have discovered something wondrous, and are worried they will endure some horrible fate so another can take what they’ve discovered for themselves.
Civic Infrastructure
Li̽d Zdrik Ner possesses a city-wide Aethary Link which provides Aethary access anywhere within its metropolitan. This allows citizens who can afford the relevant devices access in their places of work, and rarely homes.
Li̽d Zdrik Ner has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Li̽d Zdrik Ner. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Li̽d Zdrik Ner's parks.
Li̽d Zdrik Ner has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Li̽d Zdrik Ner.
Li̽d Zdrik Ner has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.
Li̽d Zdrik Ner has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
Li̽d Zdrik Ner has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Li̽d Zdrik Ner's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.
Li̽d Zdrik Ner has an Millitary Academy which trains military officers and specilists.
Li̽d Zdrik Ner possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.
Li̽d Zdrik Ner has a first rate hospital which caters to anyone in need of long term medical care.
Li̽d Zdrik Ner has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Li̽d Zdrik Ner's natural decorations nor waterways.
Li̽d Zdrik Ner has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Li̽d Zdrik Ner has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.
Cultural Notes
There’s more than one leader in Li̽d Zdrik Ner, but at least some of them are at each other’s throats. It might be a conflict between formal leadership and informal authorities, or it could be a struggle among civil officials. Their interests might diverge sharply, or it could be a personal grudge that’s boiled over. Outside threats and internal problems are likely being ignored until the power struggle is resolved.
Li̽d Zdrik Ner's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by grandeur of scale, simplicity of geometric forms, dramatic use of columns, and a preference for blank walls. This design ethos extended to re-imagining earlier styles of structure to create them anew, with a similar overall look and feel to one another..
In Li̽d Zdrik Ner hail is always enormous, yet harmlessly plinks off people, creatures, and structures.
The Devil Dog near Li̽d Zdrik Ner are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.
Li̽d Zdrik Ner's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves line dance to channel Abjuration energies of tier 3 via oratory performances.
